Sydney came down with a cold last week. She seemed to be getting better throughout last week but then on Sunday she started getting worse. She was coughing a little bit on Sunday. We sent her into daycare on Monday but a call a couple hours later. She was running a fever and was coughing very consistenly. She proceeded to get worse as Monday wore on and got to the point where she didn't even want to take her bottle. We went to the doctor on Mondya dn she was diagnosed with two ear infections and bronchitis. Dr Calisto (her pediatrician) gave her amoxicylin for the ear infections and advised to watch the intake of fluids. She continued to get worse Monday night into Tuesday morning. She was coughing so much that we had hold her in order for her to sleep. Tuesday brought another day of continual worsening of her cough, runny nose, sore throat and ear aches. We ended up bringing her to Dr Calisto again and she advised that we bring her to the ER at South Shore Hospital (they have a pediactric ER unit) due to her not taking any fluids for another day.
We headed up to South Shore and she was given a nebulizer and put on an IV. The doctors wanted to admit her due to her lack of fluids. Jess stayed with her overnight in the pediatric unit. Sydney and jess only got a few hours of sleep. They had to share the room with another sick toddler. The doctors ended up giving her about 1.5 bags of fluid overnight and yesterday afternoon Jess got her to begin taking fluids again. The doctors decided to let her leave since she was taking fluids again. She is at home now and is very weak due to her lack of food and fluids. She got about 12 hours of sllep last night and seems to be in a better mood overall.
We will update as the days progress.

Time slips by....
Sorry we haven't updated in awhile (that is an understatement!). We have been very busy going here and there. Jess is back at work and has been since the end of September so we have had to readjust our schedules and learn how to balance work and home, marriage and personal time, etc. Anyway, Rick and Becca got us a great gift last year - the camcorder! We have been using it but I have run into some issues converting the movie files into something that we can put out there for people to see. I am trying to see if I have got it so please let me know. I am going to post a video of Sydney. If it works let me know!

Visit to Long Island - Rob, Cassie and Ryleigh Waldner

We went to visit our friends Cassie and Rob Waldner in Stony Brook NY last weekend and meet their new daughter Ryleigh. She is super cute. We went for a hike in a local park, sampled some wine at a local winery, and watched the Red Sox lose two out of three to the Yankees. Rob also taught me how to grill shrimp and scallops on the grill. I have been thinking about those scallops every day since we had them. Thanks to Rob and Cassie for putting us up for the weekend. We hope to see them again soon!

Updated pics

We have been pretty busy the last few weeks. We have seen a lot of folks here and we went to Vermont for a week for vacation. I also saw Frankie P (also known as Army Frank for anyone who went to our wedding) in Canada for a night. Sydney is growing like a weed and we are now introducing solid foods to her. She loves bananas!!! Here are some pics from the last few weeks.

Some cute random pics of Sydney! We love the "Instructions not included outfit" Isn't that the truth but so worth it at the same time! The other pic of just Sydney is her first day out with a bow in her hair! And of course the family picture!
Things are going well...the only complaint we could have is the sleep factor...still waiting for syd to sleep for even 4 hours straight...she is a hungry girl :) We had many members of Andy's family here this past weekend so we will post those pics soon!!
